i'll agree with Andrew, i had a 2L euro with 120hp ATW, with a Cig locker broke 2 axles, and once sheared all the crown and pinion bolts off. go the R31 borgy. my mates run hilux diffs in their 1200 utes, but the R31 is easier, has good brakes, and the right stud pattern. the axles are huge in the R31 diff. only broke the selector shafts in the escort box.

how strong is an escort rs2000 diff they would be a pretty close fit for a 1200

Escort diffs are crap. My first car was an escort with warm Pinto 2ltr twin 45's ect.I used to regulary break diffs. Mind you I was a pretty harsh driver back then LOL. I saw the light not long after and have been into dattos ever since.

If you want to keep it a Nissan product, look into a late model Pathfinder LSD. They seem to be common and inexpensive (at least here in the States).

You'll probably have to use the entire rear axle, and it will probably be overkill, which is always a good thing for dragracing.

I have a mini spool in my R31 diff. Permantly locked. I have no dramas with it. Don't have to worry about a LSD wearing either.

There is no mention of an LSD in my 910 Bluebird parts book, so it was not even offered as an option.
As far as I can tell, none of these Bluebirds ever left the showroom floor in a retail sale with an LSD. [unless specially ordered & custom fitted by the dealer, assuming that they would know how to get one.]

I don't think that the H165 diff was ever available with an LSD as a standard or optional offering in Australia.
