25hp was for a badly tuned used 1200. Properly tuned it turned out 38 rwhp, but that was with a jet change and distributor curve change. See Supertune - Datsun 1200.

also to put 100 rear wheel horsepower into context, the standard 4 speed A12 combo 1200 made 25 horsepower at the wheels when new, immagine what a 33 year old standard A12 1200 would be making now! 100 horsepower is heaps for these cars, I would compare it to a turbo silvia acceleration wise I guess

thanks guys for the feedback. I am suprised as i only wanted 120hp at the flywheel and it will be really good if i could get around 100hp at the wheels which you guys suggest is possible. Indeed if i had 100hp at the wheels in the little ute it should go pretty hard. Cant wait until its all in and running!

Hey kale,
sorry to rain on your parade but 100 (ish) rwhp is all you can hope for. All your mods are great but not really enough CR for big horsepower. The 40mm carbs will limit the result also. Tommy shows that 100 rwhp is a very good figure - I only had 90 in my coupe and it was reasonably quick. Take heart .... do the power to weight calcs for your car and a production XR8 or HSV. You will be suprised how well 100 rwhp can move 700 kg of car
Cheers
