there are a few different approaches to this problem that I know of depending on your wheels. If your wheels are three piece (the centres bolt to the two rim sections) you could try sourcing some different offset rims, or use a narrower outer rim. If the centres of the wheels are welded to an alloy rim, you can have the centres cut out and re-welded back in at the correct offset. Or, so long as it is thick enough, you can have the part of the wheel that touches the hub machined down to bring the wheel further inside the guard.
A very important thing to check before you do anything is make sure you have enough room between the strut leg and the tyre to go back in as far as you need. But if there isn't enough room, go back as far as you can and then just put adjustable strut tops on your struts.
Hope that helps a bit.

my wheels and tyres are fairly wide. especially the front wheels and they cum out about an inch out of the gaurd. i want to lower it a fair bit but the wheels will bottom out on the edges of the gaurds. wot modifications can be done so the same wheels can fit in the wheel wells properly??
