theres a big fat bloke at my work and I mean FAT like over 130kg, he has a home built buggy with two Kawasaki KX500 two stroke engines with a centre crank driven unijointed shaft, it has trouble steering even with 430mm of shock travel because it will wheelstand in 3rd when it comes on song. He is a crazy mother!

I dont think its about bike skills as much as maturity and road sense- (I'm assuming NSW has a program similar to Q-ride)

I reckon once you have had 5-7 years of driving experience you should be able to get an unrestricted licence straight up, provided that you can demonstrate an ability to handle the equipment both on the road and on the track...... Q-ride isn't rigourous enough.
meanwhile (in WA) I'll be sitting out my remaining 10months & 2 weeks on a gutless 250

Despite this site probably full of 18 - 24 year old bulletproof superbike legends , I STRONGLY recommend paying for a course such as Superbke School in NSW & VIC. You will learn more about riding in one day than a lifetime of riding - best investment of time and money I have made IN MY LIFE !
Now to get the courage up for level three
