just take both engines down to the vets and put them on those scales designed for small horses (english mastiffs)

that'd do it!

but no they don't weigh much.....

Got some springs that you know the spring rate for?

###N/mm x 9.81 x how many mm it stretches when you lift = Good estimate of engine weight.

Or someone could just tell me????????

I've got a ca+box and a a12+box sitting in the shed. I don't have a set of weighing scales that'll handle them though....

My bf and a friend lifted an a15 onto my ute easy enough. considering how light 1200s and 120ys are you wouldnt expect the engine to weigh much more then it does??

Wonder what the weight difference between an original A12 + gearbox & CA18 + Gearbox is?

Anyone know?

yeah.. So from the kW/kg I can determine weight. We know an a12 is 69 hp (52KW) at the flywheel. With 0.6 kW/kg, the weight is 52/0.6 = 86kgs.

Simple maths

ps..I trust Ferrol Errol for everything except getting Excel chart label descriptions correct.
