It doesnt look to bad. Have you got any photos of where it is rusted on the subframe? I wish i had of bought a better ute shell because today when i was removing a tonne of bog i uncovered all these big rust holes around the roof. In a way im glad i removed the bog so i can fix it properly. Good luck with your project its a pity about the rust and bog but i guess those things can happen when you by things unseen.

Probably best to buy a bog stock runner and transfer the running gear. There's a few nice example's on eBay at the moment.

If you do this you can slap the old a12 in the crappy shell and recoup some of your funds.

hey all.

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2626919

this is a link to my 79 1200 ute.

I bought it sight unseen off prospec on this forum. $2800. I asked if it had any rust and he said not much just a bit in the back subframe. different story when i got it home and had a look underneath. the whole front subframe has rusted away so bad that where the stabiliser bar ataches (on the left side looking at the front) has completey come off and there is no where to reatach it to.

body is in ok condition till you look up close and underneath haha.
the rear end has been shaved and all the bog is starting to crack , the roof has bog in it all the rear quarter panels are full of bog.

its got an a15 which is good (good compression, doesnt blow smoke), hot cam, electronic ignition, extractors. engine goes good when u get the revs up, the inlet manifold has a crack in it so it runs rough down low (sucking air)
4 spd gear box is ok
diff is good.

would be a good car if it wasnt so rusty haha. its too dangerous to drive cause it floats all over the road, so im gonna strip it down or try to find anothe body with not as much rust and swap every thing over.
