(ohh i can see boof, ange etc laughing now)

i try to keep to shared foot paths and bike lanes but as a road paying motorist, i feel i pay my way to ride too. never noticed how dumb and bad drivers are (well i did but not this bad)

I got rid of my 2 wheels and upgraded to 4. If i was on my bike and came across a dirt jump or something i would just have to have a go at it. Too many accidents in the end so i sold it. I think its alright to ride on the road as long as you are an experienced rider and can ride close to the gutter and keep the bloody steering straight. And if theres a footpath with a concrete pathway they must ride on that. You must wear lycra as well.

hahaha this is such a cool topic.
teretonga u need to post about for Syndey bike riding expeditions to and from work please????
Anyway .... I ride a bike cause Im fat thats it end of story...I like it to be able to go through a Red Light Camera intersection and not stop....naughty ??? yes... and I love the look of motorists faces when I look back at them...hehehe....
But if Im in the car stuck at those lights and a rider does that, Im thinking that rotten bastard.... Im gonna give him what for before the next intersection. Anyway at the end of the day R fast is right...and cyclists take a BIG RISK...I try to stay to bike tracks. but its still nice to be able to do something naughty on the road and get away with it...thats the boy in me.
Now before you all go orf at me...if i get hit by a car doing that I'll be the one screaming blue murder and maybe youre right but my soul is prepared.

A couple of my mates ride bicycles and good on them .........
BUT
I wonder how I would go driving my car on a road at 40 Kph (and you bike guys know that is a bloody good clip on a pushie ), taking up the whole lane as I am entitled, but holding up traffic on a 60 or 80 kph road?? Highway patrol might suggest (for our safety of course $$$$$$$$$$$) that I may drive a little more responsibly after I receive my infringement notice for obstructing traffic - however, if my my buddies and I form our "Tour de delusion" - 5 wide pellaton (?) then that's okay because we are bike riders and we are special !! Pffft I say - get off my damn road
And before all the greenies jump out of their tree and all puffed up - I ride a motorcycle and know only too well that car drivers only watch their speedo, their phone keypad, or their maccas they just bought
To me, if you can't match the flow of traffic - don't be there - or better still, get rid of the pushie and burn fossil fuel on a motorcycle !!
End of rant
Cheers

...forget the bike riders...its amazing how stupid some motorists appear to be when you ride a bike...Ive been hit from behind, swerved at,yelled at had objects thrown at me from cars NOT because i was holding them up...just simply for being on a bike.

Speaking as someone who had a car deliberatley clip them from behind at an intersection while waiting for the lights to turn green(I caught up with him at the next set...lets just say he needed a new side mirror )...maybe they run red lights to put as much distance between themselves and the cars.

Bike lanes mysteriously seem to disappear at major intersections...just when you need them most!
