Stanza would indeed work too (any L series will slot into a stumpy 5 speed) - I was just answering the Series 1/2/3 Q, figured you had the Stanza gear covered pigdog!

wat year do i get the bel housing off? people are saying series 3.. but i looked the other day and they say nuthing bout series 1 2 3 on the plates.. so how can i tell?

Pity I missed meeting you (by piking on the GOR cruise) by the way.....

Series 3 bluebird housing will have an ID number with "CA" in it on the side of the gearbox like this:

Series 1 & 2 Bluebird don't have a CA motor in them, they have a L series motor.

L series and CA series tailshafts are the same, but bellhousings are different.

the stanza one wont work,as the output splines are different.use the bluebird shaft &
have it shortened, & through in some new uni's at the same time.
