A running set-up for a carton of beer? man I wish I spoke up. I got ahold of an a12 not running and gave sunny man a carton of pales(voluntarily). The motor in the 1000 was shot- well the head was. Anyway if there's running motors up for a carton I'm keen as a dog with two dicks, got a 1200 in PNG that needs some attention.

By the way sunny_man I'm very happy with the motor.

i sold my complete running A12 (no box) for $100. Looked like #### but went well.

I know what you mean about the water jackets! Thats why i got 1/2 way home from buying my 1000 and had to stop and trailer it the rest of the way... Bloody things!

There was a guy with a sunny in South Australia he tryed to give away 2 A12s with extra parts, no takers for a fair while.

I have tried to give away A12's and an L16 block, no takers, still got the A-series, the L block is now scrap metal.

Matt1K-ute in SA also tried to give away A12's+spares - no takers.

They really aren't worth anything man, at the most for a good running setup, a carton of beer.

No more than $130.00 i'd say for your garden variety 1200.You also got to remember the poor old thing has probably done haf a million kays and most likely will need an internal tidy up to go any real distance. Also try to check for coolant use in the past as the rear water jackets can corrode and get horribly close to the head gasket sealing area.Buy with caution or a money back deal, good luck

Does the engine run? and the gearbox works as well I assume (4speed?).
For a running set-up I would say $100 dollars is a very good price indeed.

In fact I would definitely like to buy it, if it was all running though.
I already have a carport full of junk- and I live in a townhouse, packed in like sardines.
