Look forward to hearing the time, and once again I'm glad to see this inspirational car is staying in the 'family'.

entry list for Sunday
http://www.mgccq.org.au/20070805%20Hillclimb%20entry%20list.pdf

I suspected they would make me run as a sport sedan... they're pretty strict up here on compliance with CAMS regs. will be hard to compete with properly built sport sedans - mid mount engines, free suspension, wings and slicks, composite panels, lexan/perspex windows etc but there's only one in my class this time. I don't know anything about that car though. I haven't been to the hillclimb since early last year. Record for the Sport Sedan class is something like 43.8 which is insanely fast! I'll be happy with a 46 at the first event. did a 46.7 at the first hillclimb in the GTR.

I can't wait for Sunday!

might try for a little less 'memorable' next time, Jeff! But yes, will be back in NSW hopefully on a few occassions next year.

Ianey, the 120Y will still get the L series, but it will just be used as a 2nd car/cheap runabout. Will get a respray in the orig colour, the 14*7 & 7.5" wheels I've got for it., I picked up some Stanza struts etc a few weeks back for $40, and a Stanza 5spd for $100. So its happening

I went to a practice session at Morgan Park yesterday, to get a feel for the car before the Hillclimb on Sunday. Its a good tight little track with alot of variety in the corners - off camber, uphill, downhill, over crests, esses, a fast RH kink followed immediately by a bracking area, and another braking area that starts at the end of a fast LH sweper.

I was surprised how easy it was to drive and how aggressive you could be with the throttle through corners. I was expecting it to be ready to bite you at any moment, but its not really like that. I was also surprised at how torquey it is. You can take slow corners that were definitely 2nd gear in my old 2lt coupe in third in this car and still get very good drive out of them. Brakes are very good too. I didn't get any lap times, this was just a familiarisation excercise.

The downside is after that I've got a couple of things to change before Sunday's hillclimb. but that's racecars for ya! oh well, it wouldn't be a real race meeting without a couple of late nights would it?

Next stop is Mt Cotton Hillclimb on Sunday
