i installed it into my1k and didnt have to make any extra mods other than a hole through the mount.
You have to take the mount out, and pull it apart, and work the bolt into where you drill the hole. its a pain, but the cheapest insurance you can find. You dont even have to use a high tensile since there is no side loading of the bolt, but it wouldnt hurt to use one.
I had to trim the head of the bolt a little since I put it reallt close to the standard studs and it got in the way.
When ou do it, just sit down for 5 mins and look at it and it will all make sense.

Thanks - that's actually a good simple form of insurance and would be fine in a racecar (wish I'd come up with it myself - doh!). Would obviously need to create space/holes for the bolt heads.

You could always though a bolt through them. Check out this pic that I drew of what i have used. (apologies for the old sketch, it was before I had a scanner or digital camera.) its a bit crude, but this way the mount acts the same way as normal, but if it cops some excisive load, it hits the nylock nut and stops the mount from over streching. It doesent transmit any extra vibration into the chassis, so it feels like normal, but with the insurance of a $5 bolt.

It is a racecar. Std mounts have been fine so far.
Just a bit old/perished and I'm concerned they will tear apart during a race and that I'll have an engine jumping around damaging itself and the car.

If you are not racing, I recommend the Nissan part. Mine are 35 years old and still working. The B310 ones have a slightly bigger thread (so you can drill out the 1200 mounts) and are a bit harder rubber, if you don't mind the vibration they are fine for use with an A12 engine.

I think the crossmember in the front of this pic has the same cortina mounts on them....a lot better than the original.

try and get b310 mounts, they look a bit more solid. The cortina mounts i got ($55 each) were a good 10mm taller than standard.
