I think PIGDOG has a cut down r31 housing but you need to provide your own r31 axles and centre

yeah r31 28 spline BW, same as most people run behind there CAs

to fit the 120y, well it will go straight in....but
you need to find a complete R31 diff to use the axles and centre and stuff out of as i need all the insides for my new diff
but will still work out alot cheaper than getting one cut down and stuff

ah right, well that makes sense then, but yes thats the same car your talking about i think. It looks better in those photos he had up. I can tell you the flared guards are bad, done with vice grips lol. Pigdog, what would I need to make that diff fit a 120y, cos if its a V8 one, then I might actually be interested in buying it.

I got it from a guy in adelaide called rob, a young bloke, managed to get it for $4500 instead if $5500 because its gonna need a lot of work, and yeah i was planning on getting a new body as its absolutly trashed haha. So pigdog, whats so good about that diff? Is it a tough one? cos im gonna need one.

its not a matter of just having a brake upgrade. its gotta pass the brake tests.

for my engineering test, they did 10 consecutive stops from 60kph (to heat up the brakes i presume) then 2 stops from 100kph. And measure the braking force with some sort of g meter.

mine was engineered with stanza discs and girlick calipers. no booster. it passed easily.

engineering a conversion is very daunting but it doesnt need to be.

i got the go ahead from my engineer before i started my conversion, that way he was expecting me. i consulted him throughout the conversion with questions and queries, that way all the work was done to his requirement. So he basically knew what was coming in before he had even seen it. And it passed first go.

i highly reccomend doing it that way, worked for me and if i ever do another conversion ill be doing it the same way again.

im an electrician by trade who knew not much more than how to service a car before i fell in love with datto's. if i can do it. so can you.

good luck.
