Now this is really testing me,i would assume they went Australia wide,but i know it was'nt a deal that was on going,cause once they got sold off they never reappeared.I strongly suspect they came out of Clayton(old VW plant)just before Nissan decided to bail out(now the Holden Racing Team HQ) as a last ditch attempt to try and save a few jobs.Even diehard Datsun people like me could understand the pull out,compared to what other manufacturers offered at the time,Nissan had really dropped the ball and lost thier way offering underpowered rubbish made up of what they could find in the parts bins,but i'm off the point.I did see one of these vans at(as a postal) in Albury NSW at a race meeting at Hume Weir,but anyway is this what our friend is looking for?

Now that's the kind of Datsun story I like to hear. It reminds me of the US Postal van with the Datsun 1200 hubcaps.

Open in new window

Pulsar Van

Apparently it was really a B11 model -- Sunny fwd van -- rather than a true Pulsar (N11), but marketed as a Pulsar van.

Like i said DD,they where made only for Australia Post as a full blown panel van and where not available to the general public.After thier use by date(don't remember how many kays)they where sold at auction by Fowles auction group at Altona Victoria,I attended the auction with my mate and towed it home on my racing car trailer the same day.We also have Honda motor scooters that are made for Australia post exclusively,(we know them as postie bikes here)you cant buy one of these new unless you hold a postal delivery contract,but once they are worn out you are able to get them at auction.Hope this clears up any confusion,Cheers Bert

A 1979-1982 Datsun B310 (Sunny) "van" is just a wagon. It might be a panel van, but Nissan called wagons vans and vice-versa.

GL is the upscale trim, so it probably came with carpet instead of a rubber floor mat, and other sundry good stuff.

Many Pics here: wiki - B310

1983 Pulsar?
* There were no wagons/vans
* There was no 1200cc engine

I can't find the ebay ad,but my money is on a very early pulsar,a mate of mine picked up one at auction many years ago.They where built for Australia Post exclusivley and all painted red,and still had Datsun badges not Nissan

Do you meen the one thats for sale on ebay with no photo in the ad?

if so i think that it will be a sunny wagon because it is a 1983 model and the datsun 1200 shape wagon stoped in Aus in 1973.
