in my ute i originaly used a cut down auto stanza tailshaft which mated my 12a rotary engine to the stock ute diff.
had it like that for about 6 months and the diff and stanza uni never looked like breaking. the diff still lives on now with an lsd in boofheads sedan.
you'll only run into problems with the ute diff if you lock it.
good luck

Dont be to fussed with the Tailshaft Trav, you use two tail shafts. one with the yoke for your box and one with the flange to bolt to the diff then they get shortened and balanced. i have a contact for when you get to that stage.

Cool thanks ange, i think i will go that way. I will just have to be patient with the lsd i guess and try and snap one up somewhere.
Stick with what i know......you know.

i would use h165 it should be fine.
lsd's are expensive though
you can also use a stanza tailshaft to cut down.

s3 bluebirds had a h190. My 2.6L sigma had the same borgwarner diff as 120Ys.

Are the BW diffs easy enough to find though?
Also what tailshaft is needed for this conversion? Will the trx tailshaft be compatable?
Thanks Trav

a 120Y BW will be alot cheaper. They're the same width as the 1200 diff. These diffs were also used in lots of different 2L cars.

Ok thanks tyrie.... i wasn't aware of that.
So the bluebird tailshaft should also fit up with the trx 5 speed box? Shortened of course.
Thanks Trav
