Suprisingly it has minimal lag it starts to boost at arounnd 2400rpm and peaks at 6200rpm, it hits rev limiter at 8000rpm.
I was suprised I thought putting a t3 on it would create a lot of lag, but it has great drivability.

Go for a daihatsu CB70 (997cc 3cyl twin cam turbo injected) they are an awesome engine I have one in my charade with a t3 turbo exhaust and intercooler 123Kw at the wheels does 12.8 q/mile (bulletproof).
Have a look at some jap import wreckers you should be able to find.
