the intercooler piping ur talking bout is it the set up u can buy from ebay which has all the different lengths and angles?

No mate.

I know a guy who builds drag & circuit cars.
He'd already done a few CA18 / 1200 conversions & knew off the top of his head what was required.

I fabricated the actual intercooler plumbing myself.

You do have to balance a tailshaft after you cut and weld a flange on. You could try and do it without balancing and you will find out pretty quick if it's balanced or not. My money will be on not!

Also, the hose size on the throttle body is 2 3/4" not 3 1/4" as mentioned earlier.

Don't use the the stock tailshaft, firstly because you'd have to change both ends. Probably the easiest to get your hands on is an L series 1 piece tailshaft from a bigger datsun. The front yoke is the right fit for the gearbox and you've just got to get the diff end shortened and changed depending on the type of diff used. Second cause it's probably a bit on the light side for the torque of the ca

It cost me about $160 to get an L-series one shortened and have a BW flange welded on and balanced. The diff shop supplied the flange for that too.

1) For the intercooler piping, I had some alloy donuts & a 3" to 3 1/4" silicone step (intercooler plumbing was 3" & the plenum intake is 3 1/4")delivered from a wholesaler in perth.... $160.00

2) I'm running a SR20 radiator & used Mackay part no's Upper - Mackay CH2502 &Lower - Mackay CH1851.

3) Surge tank - N/A... Purposely used a R31 tank so I wouldn't have to worry about a surge tank.

4) I used a R31 skyline manual tailshaft, spline already suited the CA18 box & R31 diff.
I know of a few people that have used Stanza though.

1) For the intercooler piping - from the turbo to a custom intercooler I utilised some of the elbows and fittings off the silvia donor car. From the intercooler to throttle body was aluminium, welded in sections with a silicone flex joint and silicone to the throttle body.

2) For radiator hoses had custom radiator so bent up some wire went down to parts shop and searched till found hoses that would fit.

3) Surge tank - well I have a coupe so cant help with layout of this.

4) Tailshaft working on that one at moment. Will use heavier than 1200 plus have not got 1200 diff.

2. radiator hose's.. what type did u use? from another model car or flexie hose?

i used the ones that where on the ca18 i cut a lil off and it worked great , ps im useing a ca18 rad

3. how have people set up surge tank in tray?

i put the silvia fule tank in the tray doesnt look flash but works

4. i have a stumpy gearbox on the ca18det, i have measured up the 1200 tailshaft and i need to get like 3cms cut off.. is that tailshaft ok to use on ca18det or should i use the stanze tailshaft?

when i did the tall sharft there used the two unies joints but put a new pipe in as the datto sharft was too small / skinny

hope that helps
