Lightest Datsun ever is the late 50s feather around 450kg.

standard versions of the 1k
ute 615kg (no passenger sunvisor, radio or heater)
deluxe extra 15kg
2 door 625kg (no passenger sunvisor, radio or heater)
deluxe extra 15kg
4 door 645kg (no passenger sunvisor, radio or heater)
deluxe extra 15kg
coupe 675kg (has all the trimmings, goodies etc!)

My 2 door sedan with bumperettes and many other bits is just under 600kg.

My friend Al has a 58kg 1600cc vitara engine and sierra box and saved another 30kg. He is looking perhaps at a lightweight Winters diff to keep it that way and also lexan windows for the rear and eventually composite leaf springs to target the 550kg mark. The vitara engine will be bored for 1780cc using full sleeves and maybe boost.

There's no way a 120y sedan (auto or manual) weighed less than any of the 1200s.

The 1974 'Wheels' road test of the 120Y 4door sedan 4spd manual says it weighed 775kg.

675Kg for the 4 speed

741kg for the auto

I belive that to be correct as I can lift a F4W56A and F4W60L with ease

It's a 3N71B I struggle with...

when The Defect III is complete I intend getting it weighed... just out of curiousity

just need 6 things to fix to have it drivable + glue back together the right hand taillight ring after I broke it today...

possibly planning fabricating some new ones using some thin alloy sheet (highly polished) using the mounting gaskets as templates and a few bolts to keep them restrained

Z? 2+2 or 2 seater?
K?
C?

I think 2 seater Zs are around the high 800 mark, def under a ton. And i think the 2+2 is a little over a ton.

2 seater 240Z are 1080kg IIRC. and there ain't alot you can remove to make them lighter.

the 2 seat 260Z is heavier. no-one cares what the 2+2's weigh. we'd all rather forget they were ever made.
