a lot of people run full boost just for the drag strip

if you think of all the monie you need to spend to make a sr20det go quick ( eazy 5 grand ) where i can just turn up the boost and run good times , if i blow a hole in a piston ect ect parts are cheap

so you might think its dumb but i think its a very smart mod as long as you under stand it can go wrong , but all fast cars can have things break .

has i have said before full boost for one year did 15000kms and nothing when wrong .

on the ca18det i might only use full boost just for the drags as ca18dets are getting rare compaired to sr20s

theres a vac line that goes to the turbo if you block it off the turbo gets as much psi has it makes . i block it off with a lil screw

we put a boost gauge on the sr20 and it made over 18 psi

the same line that i block to get full boost is the same one that people hook there boost bleed valves too

does that clear it up ?

vacuum line you say? lol

nah, it sounds like a very sensible mod. Makes you wonder why Nissan bothered having a wastegate at all.

18psi is way too much for a stock turbo/injector combination on an SR20. Have you had the car on a dyno to check mixtures at this boost level? I'm guessing it will be very lean.

But surely 1/4 miles have to do with more than engine power....like suspension and tyres....that could be the difference between some of the more modern cars.
