can some1 post a pic

and it may help this guy as he cant use numbers off plate so maybee he can copy plate with his own numbers for now

also if your car is made before certain date you only have to get paper work soughted through manafaturer and the rta
and carry around in glove box...

Here in Australia, our Datsuns all came with a manufacturers ID plate, same as everywhere else, but after a certain date, around 1974 I think, all the states had agreed on a number of "Design Rules" that were to be uniform across the whole country. These were known as "Australian Design Rules" or ADR's for short.

Each category had a number assigned to it & for smog equipment it was ADR27. As each additional specification was introduced, the number got a suffix. I'm pretty sure that my 1980 car is certified to comply with ADR27A & a year or two later it would need to be ADR27B. You get the picture.

The vehicle manufacturer needed to affix a plate to each vehicle that stated that the vehicle, whose chassis number & other relevant data was stamped on it was built [engine & chassis were joined] on the date that was also stamped on the plate [month & year only] This plate went on to declare that the vehicle complied with the following ADR's, then went on to list the relevant numbers with which it complied.

This satisfied the registration Nazi's & all was well with the world, however, there are some among us that sometimes confuse this 'compliance plate' with the makers ID plate & also confuse the 'car number' or 'chassis number' with a V.I.N. which was not introduced into this country untill the late 80's I think.
[A V.I.N. is a 17 character ID that is internationally recognised & in it is encoded the country of manufacture & the manufacturers code ID as well as other relevant information. It replaces the former chassis number as a form of vehicle ID.]

So there you go, a compliance plate simply declares that the vehicle was made in a certain month & year, is stamped with the chassis number or V.I.N. [as appropriate] & the list of relevant ADR's that it complies with. Various makers also included other details as well, so a compliance plate is unique to each vehicle because of the chassis No. or V.I.N. stamped into it.
These plates were affixed in addition to the makers plate, not 'instead of' the makers plate.

is this all over that little plate that says it's got an A15 with 36HP that they used really crappy plastic rivets on the 120Ys we have here? Mine's in the ashtray, funny when i got my vin verified, they looked at the firewall stamp and the one on the dash, I had to insist he check the lpg box under fuel type.

Later ones has some nonsence in the doorjamb similar, info i forget it's there, was covered with tape from painting for years

You guys have some weird rules down there.

fark sacks.. this is outta control

and yes i no what i gotta do to get a compalince plate.. i gotta get it engineered then TICK a box which says i need a complinace plate and regency will give me one when i go there to get it check ..

THE ENDD GUYS..

If this is all you have to do, I'd be getting a good mate to help out with a car trailer and just trailer it round to the engineers... the $50 you'd pay to hire a trailer is going to be a heap easier than putting some shonky compliance plate on your car to try and fool the cops if you happen to get pulled over... if you do get pulled over and the plates number is scratched off or 'dented up' then they are going to think something REALLY shonky is going on as already pointed out, and you'll have more to contend with than just a quick trip to Regency.

Just do it the right way the first time. With your CA18 in there, they're gonna know if there's no modification plate that it's not kosher and defect it anyway.

Do you tick a box to say you need a new plate, or tick a box saying it doesnt have one? I know in ACT its a box you (well the inspector) ticks to say it doesnt have one, but you cant be issued another one.
