Hi guys,

I have a morris minor with an a series motor in it. It has a lucas alternator with external bosch re55 regulator. The car has recently been running fine however the other day whilst the car was idling in the driveway the regulator overheated and caught on fire! I bought another regualtor, ran the car for 10 seconds and the new one was already starting to overheat.

Has anyone had issues like this before, can anyone make any suggestions as to what the problem might be.

At the moment im thinking of just throwing an XF falcon alternator in, but if anyone has any ideas as to the problem i would really appreciate hearing them.

Thanks
