Hey man i used to have a trx with a ca and it was making 350hp atw on chiptorque dyno. The guy who built my ca was a guy named kevin kent absolute genuise ( the guy that built the motor for the judge). cp pistons argo rods arp bearings and rod bolts etc. no need for decom plate or stroke just complicates things. custom plenum injectors and the turbo was a small trust tdo7, and all ran by one of those cheap microtech things. Just get someone that knows how to tune not who thiks they can. Good luck it can get frustrating.

Hey guys just a quick question in relation to stroking, does anyone know if a ca20 crankshaft will fit into a ca18 ? Ive often thought of trying this but dont know if it will be as strong as a ca18det crank.

one of my mates is a guru when it comes to big power 4 cylinders and he is in brissneyland. he is building a ca for my coupe later this year to handle 380+rwhp as a daily driver/drag duties.

it will be only mild work like pistons, bolt kits and a bit of head/cam work.

i can pass his number on to you if you like. i also have a wicked mechanic/tuner to dyno it if you like. he is doing an ems computer in my car this week.

photos and number to be posted soon.

email me for the contacts if you like

rupert aka mitch

I can vouch (spell?) for Mick Pizzi he did alot of work on my SR20 sunny and im very happy with the quality of work. He knows his way around a CA18/1200 combo very well.
He is on the Gold Coast though not Brisbane, about 45mins to 1hour south of brissie.

Whoever said stroker kit is kidding himself!

You most certainly don't need to stroke the thing to get those sort of power levels. To get there you are only just on the high side of a standard rebuild and a T28 turbo. with appropriate support in fuel and ecu. For reliability you might want to get some forged pistons, good bearings and rings but that would be all you'd need to do internally. Bolt on a GT28RS turbo with the 0.86 rear housing and some 550cc injectors will get you there. Whether you go for an aftermarket ecu or get the thing chipped makes no difference. I hear people like Dr Drift can tune in real time these days so it's just as good.

A simple combo like that will easily get you to 250rwhp reliably.
