well update tryed it on a front end and a bit of work needed and parts
1600 tie rods
vannete upper and lower ball joints
and then you have to modify the 1000 bits to take these parts and you will be getting a bit of neg camber (better for the racers?) any way i will get pics of it up against a 1000 drum and hub assembly

No not really I was waiting and watching you so it'd be easy for me!!

Nah okay, has anyone tried a vanette C22 disk and caliper setup? I have access to the parts and I'll give them a go when I can.

well the calipers are rooted so at the moment im hunting around for a pair then will bolt them on yes the ball joint hole is much larger but the previos owner made up sleeves to go in and tapered them so no problems there just after the calipers any one know whatmay bolt up with little work?

Im keen to see what comes of this... Im about to go through some major work to modify a Bluebird strut and turn it into an upright to fit the 1000 front end. My reason for doing so is I want a stronger hub assembly as im using the car for track work and the std 1000 front spindle doesnt look that strong to me...

I can vaguley remember a conversion being done using the C20 / Vanette front uprights many moons ago. I think dimensionially the vertical height of the upright is not too far off. It is a little taller which is not all bad as you get some more negative camber gain in roll. The biggest difference was the holes for the ball joints - much bigger on the van item. Solution may be to fit van ball joints to 1000 control arms?

my stepdad had a c20 van and when i looked underneath it, it also had the transverse leaf, i started to do some measuring of the front end bits and most seamed to be about the right size to be bolt on, but sold car before ever bolting anything up, and his c20 had 13in wheels as standard. i still have some stub axles so may just get the bits and have a play anyway.

Watching closely, be sure to elaborate.

I think I have seen a couple of C20 wrecks here.
