It wasn't called vanette here, was called "Nissan Van".

240SX is a Nissan Silvia. We didn't get any Skylines here, well the Infiniti G35 is a Skyline with another name.

Vanette's - maybe thats why its just a vague memory, cuz they didn't hang around long. I do remember them being kinda funky though. Someone posted a picture of one here recently.

You know I remember riding in one in Thailand in the early 90's that was a taxi/bus - the door didn't close right & was secured with a rope tying it shut!

DD - I thought the 240SX was basically the American version of an R31 Skyline, is that wrong?

I ran into a guy a while back in Edmonds who'd had a white (R31 I assumed) right hand drive that he'd imported from Japan, it had a roll cage, strut bracing, etc...it was the RHD that caught my eye.

naw Nissan Axxess was a station wagon kind of thing (Nissan Prairie). The Nissan Van was a minivan proper, via boxy.

I think that you're referring to the
Nissan Axxes.
The owners were offered a decent
buy-back payment for their vans.
A few people actually liked them,&
kept them.I saw one at a friend's repair
shop a few days ago.

There aren't any left. We got the Nissan C22 Van (Vanette) but they were all recalled and crushed! After that the Nissan Qwest.

can I buy on of these new anywhere?
From Nissan.

Why not get a 60-series 4-speed? All the A14 engines had them. Maybe the shifter is the same.

Is the Vanette that funky square van that looks like a VW Vanagon? We never had that name over here but I remember the Nissan mini van.

It looks like i'm getting lucky again, I may have found all the parts new from Nissan, I'll know soon.

What the hell do I do with the Galant dual manifold?? Any forums for those guys?

Hey, thanks for the offer of help A14, I'll let you know if it falls apart on my end.

Evan

####, I've thrown away complete low kms vannete boxes before. (Like 140,000 kms)
We got very few (car) 60 four speeds here, (I've never seen one) but truckloads of vannete ones. It's really only the tail section/shifter set up which is different.
I'm sure one of the Aussie boys will have a shed full of broken 60's. I could probably hunt down van box at a pinch, but taking it apart to get the fork out is no fun. Let me no if you draw a blank, and I'll put my feelers out. In this day and age, I'd say it's deinately well work fixing though.....

I suppose lucky's relative, really lucky would of been if it wasn't broken I'm not complaining seeing how hard it is to find these.

can you really find a 4 speed 60 series over there pretty easily for cheap? If so maybe I can convince one of you to pick one up for me & ship it across the pond?? I'm going to poke around today & see whats available thru Nissan, I'll assume nothing but worth a try.

anyone have a broken 4 speed they'd want to sell or have a need for that Lynx manifold??

Thanks, EVan
