Bored indeed, been sitting around for so long waiting for a particular someone to work on it.

Thankyou all.

Why is it bored? Isn't there anything for it to do?

If the oil pressure light works that is a good indicator that the oil pump is working but during crank I would expect to see very little oil at the rockers. It won't hurt to do the first start with the rocker cover off or even chop the top off a spare one.

What head are you using and what brand headgasket... some nissan a-series gaskets are head specific and will not fit universally as other brand gaskets do.

I've just finished re-building my bored A14.

I have had the rocker cover off to sort my timing out and I have been turning the engine over without spark to check that everything is operating as it should.

I didn't see any oil moving from the rocker shaft assembly and I would have expected to see at least some lubricating at cranking speed.

Can anyone confirm whether the A series does have visible lubrication along the rocker shaft assembly during cranking speeds?

I can't remember seeing oil on my A10 in my old datsun even when it was idleing.

I have primed the pump (filling the oil filter).

Any help would be great.

Chris
