~ $300 for the turbo manifold
~ $800 for a new turbo
~ $150 hook up materials
~ intercooling will probably add about $ 600
maybe $ 400 on misc exhaust work.

an intake shouldnt cost much more to make, but then you need a throttlebody, air intake filter, etc...

figure $3-4k to do it right... cutting corners you can save money in the short term. unless you get free engines it's probably worth doing it as right as possible.

For the intake I used the standard 4AGZE one, but hacked it of 40mm from the head, and then bought and shaped alu pipe and plate 'till the manifold was completed held together with masking tape. I then took it for welding. The turbo manifold I completely built myself.

efi manifold
flanges - free, original manifold hacked off
pipe main plenum 60ZAR = 8.83AUD
TB flange - free offcut
sheet - free offcuts they had lying around
fuelrail, fittings - free, original
4x injectors 365 - free, original
welding - 300ZAR = 44.11AUD

total 360ZAR = 52.94AUD

turbo manifold
flanges 120ZAR = 17.62AUD
studs, nuts etc = free have lots of bolts and thing horded so used that
steampipe and bends 150ZAR = 22.11AUD
welding = free did it myself, ok add for electricity 20ZAR = 2.95AUD

total 290ZAR = 42.68AUD

Now take into account that I tried to source ready made parts. They wanted to charge me

EFI manifold 2500ZAR = 367.65AUD
Turbo manifold 1600ZAR = 234.96AUD

i have become very interested in how much it has cost people since i just built 2 myself. it can be anything as long as it works, from most elaborate to backyard budget.

edit... not intersted in dreamers, only those who have actually done it.

my car was already efi turbo so i will just do manifolds

efi manifold
flanges 50
pipe 30
sheet 30
fuelrail, fittings 200
4x injectors 400

total 810

turbo manifold
flanges 80
studs, nuts etc 20
steampipe 90
seamless pipe 30

total 220

lets see your creativity people!
