Better still, determine the actual cause of the leak, purchase whatever repair parts that are needed, & fix it properly.

The oil pump hes never really been a problem area with 1200's so try niping up the bolts that secure it to the engine first.

If necessary, pop down to your Nissan dealer & order the gasket between the pump & the block & replace it if this is where the leak is.

The A series engine isn't OLD, in fact production of it for road vehicle use was discontinued only at the end of 2007 & as far as I know, it's still produced for industrial applications.

Between you and me and eveyone else that will read this, I haven't got a clue either about an electronic change! I think I'm suffering some old-engine paranoia.

I think I might be better off having a good chew on some PK and applying liberally to the offending area.

I can't imagine it myself.

Your oil pump has a pinhole sized leak & rather than fix it you want to do an electric oil pump conversion?
I have no idea what an 'electronic' conversion would be.

Now that's cutting edge as I don't think that anybody else in the world has thought of that.
Our Datsun A series engines have been around now for about 42 years with millions made & used all over the world &, with the possible exception of some sort of extreme race engine, nobody runs an electric oil pump.

Ever wonder why?

Well, the oil pump on the A12 has decided to give itself a pinhole size leak, which over a couple of days becomes noticeable on your driveway.

Any thoughts about an electronic pump as a replacement? Is this a job that I'll have to get the pros in on?
