My tie rod was gone because i hit a gutter i think. All fixed up now, thanks guys

Just remember that all of the steering & suspension parts have traveled the same distance over the same bumps & have experienced the same steering inputs.

If one joint has worn to the point of needing replacement, then one could reasonably think that the rest were not far behind, particularly if the rubber boots are damaged. [mine were gone]

If one pays for a wheel alignment after each replacement then I would imagine being on a first name basis with the wheel aligner wouldn't take all that long.

I recently replaced ALL of the steering & suspension joints in my 1200 coupe after spending a year picking up the necessary parts from e-bay, one by one, for cheap.

That way, when it came time to do the job I didn't need to spend anything on parts & I needed to do the wheel alignment only once & it's all brand new.

Just a different approach.

A little bit of silcone spray on the tie rod, steering arm and locking nut will loosen it up for you ( i assume that ur talking about the thread that the actual tie rod screws onto)
Then befor refitting pop a little bit of greese on the thread to lube it up so it wont seize again.

Other wise hit the crap out of it and make sure not to hit anything else and damage that!!

just spend 10 bucks on a ball joint splitter from super crap

Yeah smack the #### out of it.

Actually putting pressure on the joins with a breaker bar and tapping the side of the steering arm works. if you can imagine you hook one end under lower control arm while pushing down on tie rod end and tap steering arm near rod end.

haha nice wording 'bejesus'!! What part is that? i got the tie rod loose, just the bit with the thread wont budge.

Smash the bejesus out of it with a hammer!! Aim not for the tie rod but for the tapered seat in which it rests.

Thanks. I was taking the car in after i do this for an alignment anyways. Ill ry leave it as close to where it was. Well i stared changing it today, i got the split pin and bolt off the top off the rod, and thats as far as i got, t wont budge, something else im ment to do?

Agreed. I only replace what's needed, usually one side.

You will need to check alignment afterwards. If you carefully measure the threads, and screw the new one the same amount it should be OK.
