bit of an update, got front struts sorted i found out that theres a certain 1200 with bigger struts bigger springs and 13" brakes so ive arranged a pair of those and also a brake booster etc in exchange for my a12 so that seems fair enough. so im slowly getting closer.
thats all for now.

Nicks sr20 sedan

I poked mine back through the firewall a wee bit so the tunnel is a bit wider as a result, If you kept it forward enough it should hopefully only be about as big a tunnel as the ca ones I would guess. It probably wouldn't bother you having it forward a bit as by the sounds of it you want to have some fun on the quarter not ripping round the circuit

The tunnel is the harder part. Mounting motors is relatively easy. Just take your time when cutting out the tunnel, just take out the absolute minimum as there isn't alot of room for your pedals if you cut out to much and put in a massive tunnel (like I did)

i contacted maddat, and theyre unsure if their tunnel kit will take an auto box, so maybe im better off to take the plunge and make one as i go. ive had a look for 280 struts and they appear to be quiet rare so like you say maybe s13 is the way to go. the fabrication side of things isnt a problem as ive got handy mates (gota love them) and it may work out cheaper than buying a kit but like you say the time is the issue then. but i suppose do it once do it right is the golden rule.
