the ca dont have serpentine belt they just use the fanbelt set up ,cranck,waterpump,alternator, and people just like the sound of them thats pretty much the only reason to get them

serpentine belt (stock) will absorb less power
so no advantage other than looks
even the smaller centrifugal blowers use serpentine belts
save your money to spend on something else

less belt slippage... mainly used for superchargers and the like where belt slip equals power loss

It's so that you can get rocks caught in them more easily and you have more chance of breaking down.

I guess you don't need the same belt tension, so you'd get a couple of horses back on that.
