When I put the 5-speed in my 1200, I had to use the 1200 cross member and drill bolt holes in a 1/8 inch steel plate to match the holes in the member and the body. It was very easy to
do. I also used a plate to the right side of the engine mount to install the A14 engine. I put the plate over where the fuel pump bolts and I use an electric pump. It is a relatively
simple job if you are mechanically inclined. I have a friend that had a 1200 and he was not mechanically incilned. Funny, he put in a new battery and hammered and mushroomed the posts to
fit the terminals instead of tightning the bolts to clamp them tight to the posts. I hope you are more mechanically inclined than that. He couldn't understand why his new battery died a
week later.

G'day all
I often read all of the messages you guys put up here and it is a learning experance for me.
I have a 1973 1200 coupe which I'm trying to do up.I also bought a 1977 120y(b210)which has an a14 with a 5 speed in it ( 5th gear being
overdrive).
My question is does the crossmember from the 120y fit into my 1200? It appears to be about 1" to wide,do i have to re-drill the bolt
holes in it?
Any help will be greatfull
Thanks Brian.
