Just had CA18det engine i bought which is apparently forged compression tested and its low as. Not happy - was meant to be only 2000klms old. fingers crossed its a sticky valves or something.

yep buy an old ####ter mazda 4 banger say 500 bucks drop rotary in it there you got a 5000 dollar car,
na stick to dattos at least you can afford the parts for them

keep us posted on the build

Tried alljap spares today, they didnt have any. will try tokyo2u.

This is my first Datsun and i have to say it is easier to obtain parts for than Mazda's. i spent months looking for stuff for my RX3.

Looking forward to completion.

Yeah the ebay ones are reproduction ones and are covered in linishing marks. There out of shape and the chrome peels off or goes yellow.
