This is what I have been running for more than 3 years now, up until I Switched to some multivalve goodness...

I'd highly recommend EFI. The A14 absolutely loves it. Single throttle multipoint is by far the easiest to do, ITB's a close 2nd.

ECU.. anything aftermarket really... cheapest would be megaSquirt.

I would recommend Gotech, with the current exchange rate, they would be even cheaper than Megasquirt... Is what I use on all my kits I build and conversions I do.

Thanks for your reply. Actually, I saw the pics for the Mitsubishi/Hyundai manifold earlier. Given that the X2 Excel could be easily found in an Aussie wrecking yard, complete with manifold.

I'd take it with some die grinding, and moving the throttle body to the opposite side of the manifold, this would make a good candidate for an inexpensive EFI manifold. Question is, even though the section between the inlets would have to be cut, would this still clear the exhaust?

As for the Megasquirts, they sound pretty good for the price, even if some assembly is required. Well, seeing as I'm doing Electronics and Computer Systems Engineering at TAFE, maybe I can count soldering up on of these for some recognition of prior learning, lol.

Its almost as easy to make a manifold for quad as it is for single throttle body.if you use motorbike Tb`s and they are relativly cheap.
A cheap but efective and fully adjustable ECU is the Megasqirt unit, i think they are only about $350 in kit form. There are members on this site that have experience with them.
EFI parts will soon be available for the A series through "Lagwagon". Including Quad throttle body manifolds to suit a particular bike quad throttle body, Crank trigger pullys for ECU crank reference and Modified distributors for Sync signal (required for sequential systems).

There are two basic options:

1. Adapt a stock system yourself for high labor, but low cost. For example, Mitsu EFI. Maybe $100 if you find parts at pick-a-pull type place.

2. Pay for a professional kit and aftermarket EFI. About $4500.

Well after plenty of screwing around with the 32/36 Weber that's on my ute, I've decided I really want to look in converting it to EFI.

I would like to know what is possibly the best setup for street use. Would I be better off with a custom manifold and single throttle body with multi-point injection (no EA Falcon style centre point injection for me) or would a quad throttle body setup like the EFI Hardware ones be the go?

Also what ECU would people recommend?
