Junior, check this site out http://users.tpg.com.au/users/loats/technical/ma61/gearboxes.htmlI ran a W58 in my ute. If you still using A12 or 14 motor, have a sandwich adaptor plate made to get the fit

That link says what kind you need. I think it says W50 or T3 or something.
Then you can google what kind a 1981 celica with 22R has and tell us if it is the same kind. We is not Toyota experts.

TA series CelicasThat's 1974-1986 I think with T-series engine.
