behind a CA? you will have to modify where the shifter is unless you want some funky driveline angles

and with the stock manual tunnel it will be "fun" getting the engine and box in and out as one

no its not a stumpy box, the letter at the end indicates what sort of extension housing it has. A being the stumpy box. B is the earlier long box, and C is the later long box which is think is even longer than the early one and the shifter housing bit sticks up alot further

Thanks for your comments. In USA, we got no 180SX. Our S13 was with KA24 engine (hence 240SX). So I don't know what to compare it to. We got no CA18DET vehicles.

We also got no Skylines so don't have Skylinen stumpy gearboxes.

you mean the 180sx s13 ( u guys call em the 240sx in usa )
non turbo box is singal sincrow turbo box is twin syncrow so you might have a turbo box :)
the stumpy box is out of a skyline i think so long tail i guess neva heard anyone call a s13 box long tail tho

I'm told the "C" at the end of FS5W71C indicates the heavy-duty version.

The 180SX comes with a FS5W71C 5-speed transmission.

1. Is this a long-tail or stumpy gearbox?
2. Will it fit into a 1200 manual tunnel?

71-series gearbox look really big around
