Just hit reply then theres a box below the reply box that says quote i take it thats what you mean. You hit reply on the members comment you want to quote not on the last comment. Hope that makes sense.

ive just started redoing my 1200 ute which will probly take 8-12 months to complete, i will be putting it in project builds over the weekend

its one thing to buy a 1200 completed, but to do the work yourself is much more satisfying and you enjoy driving it much more.
although it will cost more to build one yourself you end up with a car you know every in and out in and you also learn alot during the prosses and will understand the mechanics of the car alot more..
thats what i reckon anyway.

I, like most peoples with car projects seem to find humps in the way that just manage to piss you off.

I still need a shed yet!, but that is coming. Its just one of those thigs that takes time. Still waiting on council at this stage, and Dundee, I know I am still behind on the hoist race, but Im catching up!

My Daisy is still at the panel beaters. I need to raise $2500 for the work he has done so far so that I can get it back.

In the end, I follow that mantra of;
If its easy, its not worth achieving.

Keep on with the projects peoples. Weather its a granny spec, JDM, sleeper or wild, or some frankenstien incarnation its always worth the effort.

Rock on..

In simple terms its about power to weight but there is more to it and im not the guy to ask as im far from the expert.The RTA has a technical number and a list of vehicle mods that can be engineered. There are many CA18DET 1200's engineered in NSW that's the proof and not many if any SR20DET in NSW turbos add like 400cc to the motor I'm told and the max capacity last time i checked for 1200 in NSW is 2.2 litre so on that theory SR20Det is 2.4 litre. Ring some engineers on your local RTA's list of Engineers they will know. Keep on with the datto mate theres an engine for you and your car.

oh ok so ca18det for sure but maybe not the sr... I have read a fair bit on it and it looks like the ultimate thing but the damn laws keep changing, is it because of the power to weight?? if so could u just tune it right down maybe?

Well that's debatable according to some but its not debatable that you can engineer a CA18DET in NSW.
