I wish you well.

It looks like I need to freshen up the racer, overhaul the practice bike & prep it for my riders sister in law to race [under 40's], build three new practice bikes & build a new racer for my second [over 40] rider all in time for race series 2.

Seems as if my team has grown to three.

I will probably need to buy a Nissan van to transport all if it.

Bugger

About 90% of our road bike sales are for custom built, full carbon Pinarello's & Wilier machines. Both are Italian. We also specialise in the new Campagnolo 11 speed groupo's

As for vintage, well I seem to have a different view from the rest of the world.
For me, vintage is defined as being from the 1st of January 1919 untill the 31st of December 1930, the same as the official international designation for cars. Anything newer is not vintage, however the rest of the masses seem to think that a bike is old/vintage if it was made in the 1980's. Pffft.

My BMX fleet covers a very narrow band between 1979 & 1982 & is generally regarded as being in the first generation of the genre'

Oh yeah, the last round of our retro series was run yesterday & the point score was tallied. In the over 40 class, we won.

Dodgeman, I lost track of Road bike prices back when a Tomasenni(sp) road bike was the hot ticket........I think they were 3K. And to think I was proud of the 70's Fuji in the garage. Now what exactly constitutes a vintage BMX bike?

For Vintage Motocross we have vintage (pre 1968 & Pre 1974) post vintage, which is what my 76 YZ125 falls under but the class covers 75-78. After that they have EVO which covers up to 86. Guess I should have kept the late 70's redline.

Glad to see I'm not the only person with 70's wheels (bike's, bicycles & cars).

Tom

Thanks for the kind words fellers. Yes, life has taken a new direction for me & if you ever feel the overwhelming need to spend somewhere between $5,000 & $20,000 on a new high tech road bicycle then drop me a line as I'm sure we can help you out. Yeah, I'm not kidding, for somewhere between $8,000 & $12,000 we can kit you out with a really really nice Pinarello, but pricing starts around $3,000 for the better stuff.

As for the Datsuns, I am currently in maintainance-only mode but will get back into it a bit more as the weather improves in the spring.

Paul
I still have a few new body panels that can be used on the Ute, so drop me an e-mail if you think I can help. I come to Sydney almost every week these days, so delivery of a door skin or whatever won't be a problem.
I have never been a fan of dual side draughts for street duty but the A15 will develop enough torque, even in mild tune, to make the featherweight ute really haul arse.

I guess I had better keep tabs on the forum just to see what the old hands are up to.

Good to know Dodgeman's still around, Hey Chris, my friend just bought a 1000 ute as a long term project & a 2 owner 120y sedan as a run around car. The 1000 had an A12,an A14, an A15, twin webers in the tray, a 5 speed plus a new front end & all the bits to put it back together. We're going to put 120Y PBR brakes on the front & use the A15 with the webers & the 5 speed. I, however, don't even fit in the little critter. AND the A14 was left disassembled so the cranks unusable. Bugger.
