They are simple as inside and not much to rebuild.

I had mine rebuilt for me, thinking that its complicated, only to find a huge bill and that there is bugger all inside.

The one thing that the rebuilder did tell me was that the bearings are hard to find, which seems a little odd. Bearings are bearings, but they wernt too good at following instuctions either so I take that with a pinch of salt.

Its more likly that most of the steering play will be in the balljoints everywhere else, but rebuilding the steering box cant be a bad thing.

Yeah does anyone know what it is? I suspect its something that was popular back in the day, kinda like some miracle putty or something.

Ok, so the big question is, should I pull apart my steering box and column to clean up and grease, or will I regret it? Would doing this improve steering feel? Is it one of those things that once you start you wish you hadn't?
It's not exactly clean on the outside as you can see from the photo, but I don't know if the insides are worth having a look at. Suggestions welcome. Cheers

Black is a hard colour to enjoy, it gets dirty, hard to get perfect and hot as hell.
I personally love the moss green color that some of the photos display.
You can brush paint the Por15 blackcoate also in white or tinted to another
light color with the base white and you will get no runs and toughest paint available.

Looks good Finn! I'm interested to see how it all comes together as a little rat rod 1000, hubcaps? or even super wide stockie rims would look pretty tough.

Here are those pics of that B10 I was talking about Black B10

Just a few more pictures. I have started putting it back together now after a few months.

Painting in the backyard:

The car was in desperate need for a wash:

The thick bog/filler that I found ALL OVER the car. I don't know who the hell painted this car last, but they sprayed on this thick crap thats kinda like bog, but more gritty when its being cut back. Maybe it was a standard thing back in the day? I desperately need to do a whole car blasting. Does anyone know what this crap is?

Seeing what it will look like:

Bit more scratched and ratty, which is kinda what i'm after:

Rear end:

I'm pretty happy with the results. Now to find out where all these nuts and bolts go....

Hmmm if you having a few troubles like that, it does seem like twins would have been the way to go. I would prefer an oval port aswell if it were a larger capacity engine, not so much need for low end torque.
I did forget to mention, I have a new "power" plant (A12):

Nice ride Funky, Looks like that scrubbing paid off! Maybe see what the options are with the existing head if you want to keep that single setup. Finding out that a Lynx mani will hit the exhauxst (as I suspected they might) seems like yet another setback for my plan to go single Dello on a modified to oval port flange Lynx :(
It seems there are no single manifold available for the oval heads.
Changing the head to suit might be less trouble! maybe the previous owner had that figured out already.
Now theres still the exhaust mani to think about... Almost regretting selling my SUs now :/

Hey guys, I have been doing a lot of work on this over my week break. Not finished yet but here's a bit of a teaser.
What I was up against:

After a lot of solvents and scrubbing:

Check out this one. When I first got the car without looking underneath I took it to a suspension place and said "geez my car just wanders all over the road, not sure what it is but guess it might be the lowering blocks". Way off.

Yes its head porting that would improve mixture and flow.
I would try sending it to someone local or try it yourself
with some of the many thread avail on this topic.
Im not sure the inlet manifold you have would suit an oval
port head hence the suggestion to try and port the head you
have already. If you go this route youll find the valves are
already the largest factory sizes available as I remember and
if you wanted to go larger on the exhaust side you could go
cut down L16 ones which will improve things again.
It all depends on what round port head you have.
