If you can get a good amount of leverage on it and can still get in to give it a good whack with a decent sized hammer I reckon that will shift it.
If it doesn't work, get a bigger smackerometer and try again!

Seems there is a conical type puller available for compact cars but I can find the gap dimensions, or if they are available in Australia.
Such a simple thing tho...wondering if a thick-walled bit of box section and a nut welded in the centre would do the job, but after seeing what the pressure did to the CRV...it'd wanna be thick

You might have to try a bit of heat. Get a long prybar and get someone to maintain pressure on it while you spread a bit of heat around the arm. You can use one of those butane torches or preferably an oxy set. You really need two people to do it as once the input shaft into the pitman heats up as well you're back where you started.
At the same time I would get the pry bar holder to give it a whack with the hammer as sometimes the shock will be enough to shke it loose.

Ok Ill answer that one myself...so far its a big fat NO.
Borrowed a pitman arm remover...But the 1k pitman arm is too small for the standard sized pitman arm pullers!!!
the jaws on the puller was 33mm and the rim of the pitman arm must be about 30 :(
So I thought Id be tricky and bought a 3-arm bearing puller thinking it would work for pitman, balljoints and tie rods all at the same time...maybe I shoulda tried it on the smaller components first because I went for the pitman arm first off and bent and cracked the crap outta the CRV linkages, now it dont pull straight and is kinda useless :(
Lucky I borrowed the pitman puller as these tools are about 50 bucks each...now im 50 in the hole and the pitman arm is still firmly in place :(

Will a ball joint splitter suffice?
Ie: Is there a tool that will do both Pitman arms and Ball joints without damaging them?

you can get them off without the tool if you're careful. remove the nut, and prop up the shaft from underneath with a bottlejack. Then get a long bar (I use a valiant torsion bar) and beat if off from the top. If you dont have a prop under the shaft, the force of the hitting will damage the gear inside the box.

yeah just a pitman arm puller, you can get them at repco for like just $50, probably better than ebay but yeh, i couldn't find one that was small enough for my steering box and ended up snapping mine lol. it's a tapered shaft as well so once you have tension on it a solid hit to the end of it should knock it off nicely. steering boxes can be a pain to get out but, mainly if yours is like mine where the whole steering box is one unit with the column.
