yeah thats exactly why we didnt go down that path + its a lot of fiddling around. alot of people have shaved the lip so i guess as long as you don't go jumping on the walls of the tub it should be aighhhhttt

yeah i was considering doing the same, its only that rail that needs drilling off. wouldn't it affect the strength a little bit tho?

we're putting a hardcover on our ute, so we are just going to run a strip of rubber along the side lips to make up the difference. easy fix for us, but without a hardcover id just shave the lip, cos its only the lip on the tailgate that is taller, not the actual tailgate body.

I found just grind the top lip off using a 1mm cut off disc, then trim the top lip so it will sit at the same height as original, then just use a mig with .6mm wire to weld along the inside and grind back. Use the .6 wire that way there is not alot of heat being put into anything that will make it bend or warp...

i had to pack up one corner underneath the hinge with bog, and peter a thin layer of bog along the top of the beaver panel to keep a uniform gap. sh*ittest job ever but i got it close. unfortunately the aftermarket ones have a top lip that leans forward, rather that flat along the top of the lip. hmmm fun and games haha

Search finds nothing.
Instead go to the wiki, and use the Go To box at the bottom of the page. Put in Tailgate. There are pictures of custom tailgate modifications
