ok so, still trying to come up with a fix for this little issue of mine, resigned to the fact that I probably need a new manifold, what manifold are you guys running or would you suggest that is shorter and is going to offer more room in the bay for the webbers?

What sort of performance differences are we looking at to change the manifold over to an oval port? in the mean time I shall go hunting for a slim box filter....

cheers guys for all your help, I'm alright with A12 engine internals but when it comes to extractors and webers im totally lost! (not allowed to run em on Junior Sedans which is where my experience of dattos lies...)

I think LDO might be talking about putting an angle on the trumpets.

But a small angle wouldn't affect it too much, for better or worse.

That looks like a round port manifold to me which clear extractors beautifully but tend to be too long for the 1200/120y/sunny engine bay.....great for a 1000 engine bay, if you move the kangaroo bag/washer bottle.

The oval port manifolds that split nice and early are the way to go. But these would offer performance alternatives with the longer runners.

Connor can't really offer his for comparison as it has a much shorter manifold.

Either run some slim box filters or change the manifold. Or get some squat trumpets with gauze guard....

Machine (surface grinder) some flesh off the manifold flanges on both the head flange and carb flanges.

redline\lynx\whatever have a lot to answer for with those manifolds, why couldn't they just angle them up and make them shorter?
