D & R diffs at chipping norton be able to shorten/change/make you a new tail shaft, not 100% sure though it was a few years since I have used them

I noticed the ute tailshaft is heavier than my 120y one. Kinda on topic too, would I be looking for a B310 auto tailshaft to fit the diff in my 120Y?

h165 ute tailshafts should have bigger unis so are better to use than a shortened h150 one

if you cant find a ute one, its best to get a 120y tailshaft to thats from a car with a Borg Warner diff and then the rear flange from a stanza or bluebird or something as 120y BW tailshafts have larger unis that h145 and h150 tailshafts. they are about the same size as the H165 unis in L series powered cars

I thought it might. Looking at the old posts from the wiki i saw someone got custom fab work for about 200, which isnt too bad.

Also found this on ebay but im pretty sure from comparing it with the wiki pics that its for a H145. (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/DATSUN-1200-UT ... ories?hash=item255996fc00)

Ill keep looking and ring a few places to see what they say. Anyone know some reasonable places in Sydney?

The splitter is the metal T piece that bolts on the diff 10mm or 12mm bolt a rubber line goes to it and the metal lines come out of it that go to your wheel cylinders There will be one on the H145 diff. You need to put it on to the drivers side of the H165 diff. So if you have a tail shaft that fits e.g ute one then it should fit if you need it shortened it will cost bugger all i paid $60 for an engineer to do mine and he even balanced it.

It'll cost more to shorten it, than a good used one costs.

Its gonna go in a 73 1200 sedan.

I looked in the tech wiki and i have everything for the diff to be fitted except for the brake fluid splitter, which i dont know what that is. Also just need the tailshaft and i dont know how much it would cost to shorten my one down.

You can also use a H150 tail shaft from manual jap 120y but would possibly need to get it modded/shortened. Whats it going in ? Ute ??

As the title says i need a tailshaft to match a H165 diff if anyone has one it would be great. Upgrading my H145 to a H165, already have the diff all i need is the tailshaft. Dont want to have to pay to modify my tailshaft.

Im in Sydney.

Cheers guys.
