i put this in a vice and it gives it 95% accurate. but as to doing it well, i havent been able to achieve that yet.

dad does motorbike ones all the time, not really that hard to do by the look of it. but you would need the jig to do it, thing you put the rim on and spin it to see if its true

bike wheels

well i built my self a bike from spare parts of my 3 wrecked bikes.

The franken bike was a mongoose hybrid 21 speed with 700c wheels and v brake set up (bout 2001 build) but id changed to moutnain bike suspension front for 26inch mtb wheels and tyres, new threadless headset and different handle bars.

put newer bearings in crank and a 26inch rear wheel as well for now.

the rear derailer was stuffed so i sniped it and the front derialer was missing so its now a single speed set up(i love single speed except in a head wind now).

I just need help or to be taught how to replace spokes or rebuild bike wheels.
found a few rear wheels in the hard rubbish, some good some no good. but one good wheel (alex double wall rim with shimano cassete). would love to replace the 3 broken spokes and true it up but may be better relacing it with a single speed hub to get rid of my chain tensioner.

now i refuse to pay for $30 for truing- $1.50 a spoke plus labour to relace the whole wheel(bout $120 all up) with no gurantees of it being true.

any one any good with this stuff- i can only watch so many you tubes and e hows to go this is rubbish and i just need to be shown hands on.
