yeah 18s will go but as most people have said you will need to make the inner and outer gaurd larger in to front make them fit . the coupe has a larger rear wheel arch aswell so yours being a ute you will need to stretch the rear wheel arch to fit the larger diameter even with the lowest possible profile tire. there is a ute that has had 18s on the back and 17s on the front that i know of but i have never seen another 1200 with 18s all round apart from my one . i could be wrong though .

18's are to big, i thought 15's were just alittle to big but ok. you may probs get pulled over for it. Ride hieght would be high as even with low profile, get a lift kit then you can fit 24" if you still going to do then do it! its your car and also im curious, never seen 18's on a 1200 ute before.

i like modifying the #OOPS# outta stuff too... but each in its own era :)

i think 18s are too big unless you do extensive body mods

there was a 1000 ute with 20's on the back, anything is possible with a welder and an angle grinder lol.

its do-able but yeah you have to cut and reshape wheel wells and wheel arches... especially if you want to lower it... i think with the right style wheels it would look awesome but for practicality sake 15s are as big as you really wana go IMO

besides big wheels on a little car like the 1200 makes it look like a roller skate, especially your guys short wheel base utes. wide 13" rim's rule. I do however think up to 15" looks not too bad.

What body shape do you have? On my ute I'm going to try running 17s on the front with 18s on the back with a set of 15s for track duties. 18s will required work to you inner and outer guards especially if you try to get a reasonably low ride height.

Larger wheels obviously have lower profile tyres
Thus the wheels are more fragile and prone to bumps and distrotion from curbs , poor driving etc
Not to mention the #OOPS# ride from the reduced air cushion

Lots of guys I know with Silvias etc are forever getting their buckled rims repaired or buying new ones
