or for about $200 you can also build coilovers...doent have to cost $1000. and king springs are pretty #OOPS# and if you get springs that are actually low they wont be captive. so they are like having expensive cuttys really

if you want a simple job, just get some low king springs, can get them for $110 trade i think.
or for about 1k you could build your own custom coilovers!

i started to build my ute when i was 14 and yeah, i know whats like when you are strapped for cash. i still am pretty tight on money and i only earn bout 130 a week.
best thing you can do would be wheels and a nice ride height, it will cost you about 300 to lower your dato if you fit the parts, ebay sell lowering blocks 2 inch for 70 i think and king springs do a super low 2 inch for about 230 i think. as for wheels just have a look around and see what pops up on the fourm. heres a link to my ute

as long as they get the rust out- i got a cheap supposed mates rate job- was told rust would be cut out and metal rewelded in in major places- lets just say 5 years later, the rust came back as they just boged over the top.

lucky they are no longer in business- not cause of cr@p work, falling out between partners.

as far as looks the best thing you could do reasonably cheeply is stance and wheels.
