ah yeh ur correct, i have a set of 180b struts here. might just get the falcon hub\disks and do some experimenting! ill also have the 1200 struts out of the sedan so i can do some measuring and get the angles right.

would probably need to run non 1200 struts for the falcon hub/disc to work as you need the larger datsun stub axle. could always get a pair of struts bent so that you have the same kinda stub axle angle as 1200 struts do, as this would be sorta what limits wheel choice. as you can do the swap with only minimal track increase if need be

once again a wealth of knowledge pigdog.. thanks again!
I might aswel spend the time goin to a 5 stud, and now that you mention it the ford pattern would be better as i wouldnt mind having a nice set of jap rims on it one day, and not much harder to obtain parts!

Ive decided to try and go with the following

Front- 1200 struts with slotted XF falcon hubs and disks, try to adapt the XF calipers on also with a custom bracket of some sort.. if not ill try a few different calipers i have lying around the joint

Rear- Shortened R31 diff, shortend and resplined EB falcon axles, Hopefully the EB disks are around the same diameter and thickness as the R31 disks, so i can retain the calipers.

Ill be starting a build thread when things get underway in the next 2 weeks, so ill post pics and stuff up then

So nah jake i wont have the trouble really if i use the 1200 struts, not sure on the wheel choice as of yet, will probably be the last thing i do. Not sure wether to go with the skinny front fat rear look or a set of nice offset bronze jap rims hmmm

Hope your not planning on running wide low offset wheels with those 31 struts mate, basically Your only option strut wise, for wide wheels on a 1200 is 120y/1200 stuts

ford stud pattern is easier, and more wheel options as more jap 5 stud is that pattern
can use EB-AU axles cut down in the r31 diff for the rear

then have a couple of possible options from the front
find some 240/260/300c hubs and see how you go fitting them onto some larger datsun struts, should be the same stub axle dimensions
or z31 300zx 5 stud hubs like what datsport use for their 5 stud r31 struts
or apparently XFs have the same stub axle dimentions as datsuns so you can use their intergrated disc/hub

getting 5 stud is the easy part, then you just have to play around with brakes to see what will work

as for holden stud pattern on the front, grab some VL front disc/hubs and see how they go on datsun struts, think the stub axle dimentions are pretty much the same so should be more or less a straight swap

oh and pigdog, the main reason for wanting holden pattern is down here we have an abundance of vl and commodore parts, that i can get for pretty much nothing. I can also get a set of R31 struts for nothing aswell.. just tossing around the options
