I took mine off the metal frame, cut the top piece off and made new top out of 6mm MDF, that I lamintaed at the front so could shape it. Then uses expandable foam at the ends, so could sand/blend the two pieces together again. Then re-covered dash.

Tried to bogg it initially but it kept falling out when dash got hot.

i think im going to bog mine, than cover/wrap it in sued. and than maybe a aluminum plate around the gauges.

you can either paint it or recover it in vinyl or leather...whatever your budget allows

ive seen people use bog then recover the dash or paint over the whole thing ,and then you could use expanding foam aswell which ive heard works well
