Do all rust repairs yourself and bog work then paint using Whitecoate enamel
paint which is the strongest paint out there which can be rolled on with high
quality rollers by yourself or use cheap spray units as this paint is so tuff
it will clog most units if you dont clean them quickly. This paint does not
run or create orange peel but can be cut with 400/800 then 1200 with alot of
elbow grease. Go the fibreglass bonnet it makes no difference to strength and
get some doors from any 4 door sedan 1000 as they are small doors compared to tudors.

Nothing wrong with 'glass guards and parts when theres few alternates available
However there seems to be plenty of 1000's in Adelaide so you shouldn't struggle too much for parts

1000 parts are abundant,.... don't know why anyone would get rid of once cause they couldn't find a part.... but some people I guess prefer to be sheep and get 1200's :)

Lots of replies already.

To answer a few questions you guys have asked, I'm located in Adelaide, my deadline is before the end of this financial year (30/6/2011), this is mainly because my partner and I only have one car and really need two.

Cylons8 thanks for the suggestion, but I'd rather keep away from FRP. dashtop, speedo and back glass i might be interested in though, but I have to keep myself from starting this project till November because otherwise I'd be putting other things on the backburner.

Hi Corey,

Welcome to the club, glad to see you made it on here okay. There are a fair few 1000 owners here. Leith, AKA 'lethal_john' is selling a FRP 1000 bonnet, so get in touch with him if you're keen, I think he was after $350.00 a while a go but he may be negotiable, best to ask him.

I have 1000 ute windscreens and back windscreens if you need them, the bonnets I am not keen to sell. I have doors but they're suited to the coupe, which I think is shorter and a touch longer? Not too sure.

I also have a dash-top if you need that and the speedo cluster. Can help with all those.

Cheers,

Chris Lyons
