well bakat, based on what I've read abt ballast resistors and the input here, I'm quite sure I will keep my ballast resistor on my stock hitachi coil for the time being.

Well mine is a stock nissan one it says UK012V on the bottom, all the 'non high energy' stock coils I have say USE WITH RESISTOR on them.

Another example u can buy a high energy Bosch GT40 coil but the one to use with a resistor is a GT40R

As far as the question "What maketh a high energy coil?" - Well I really don't know, probably a better dielectric oil or something to do with the coils themselves.

You can leave the ballast resistor wired up as it is but yo will only be getting 9v to the dizzy or something instead of the full 12v ( kinda defeats the purpose of getting an electronic dizzy)

On my L20B I just bypassed the ballast resistor by putting the hot side straight to the coil.

If you remove it make sure u have a high energy coil to go along with the new dizzy as the coils designed to be used with ballast resistors are just that, designed to be used with ballast resistors, they will still work but u may have probs with operating temps etc.

I got myself a C22 vanette eletronic distributor for my A12. So my question is, do i need to remove the ballast resistor?

If I shouldnt remove it, then how should i wire it? directly to the coil terminals or in series with the resistor?
