Picture shows piston at bottom
Those seals look right way around

Other piston the 2 seals close together are supposed to be opposite each other... hard to tell by pic
The one closest to end has lip pointing back up the bore oppositre to all the others
SO 4 face down the bore... and the one faces up

Put the bottom piston in and push it down with a screwdriver and hold it all the way down the bore
Then fit small screw that stops the piston coming back too far
Then release the screwdriver and the piston pops back and stops on the pin
Then refit top piston and circlip

I don't know how to interpret that.

I have only had trouble with rebuilt cylinders, so I only buy remanufactured (or new) ones. Other mechanics report good results with rebuilding them however.

Hi DD

Yes i only used brake fluid nothing else, when moving outer piston downwards do you feel the inner piston is also moving ? i feel only outer piston moves down and come up only

is that the problem there ?
but individually i checked them both are moving down and up

If you put oil in it, that is a problem. Only Brake Fluid should be used.

Yes chris, that's correct. Push in the piston, then fit the screw to limit the front piston travel. This is for a double-outlet Master Cylinder.

And yes, the Master Cylinder must be bled by cracking the lines at the cylinder, before proceeding the bleed the wheel cylinders. All air must be removed.

I pushed the internals of the master cylinder all the way in and then screwed that small screw all the way in. It is intended to limit the travel of that cylinder, I THINK if it isn't in correct place the cylinder will not prime and keep pressure.

It also helps to prime the master cylinder or bleed it directly off the cylinder (there should be two small bleeding nipples on the actual master cylinder?) I found that if there was air I could not bleed the brake system properly.

Hi DD

Actually Yes, i have removed old brake oil and replaced all the washers on brake drums and also bought a rebuilt washer kit that suit for my Master pump, the size is 11/16

when pumping brake master cylinder sucks little oil and also can hear a little air sucking sound from the small hole in the reserver , but not Cluth reserver does similer, but none of them bleed oil down


fixed it so oil bleeding so removed it to bench test it
and filled oil and pumped it several times but no oil coming from , when you pump front piston it moves down and return back normaly,

is there any specific mechanism to instll small screw under the pump,after inserting clutch piston into the master pump , do i need to put small screw down or after installing both

Do you see any mistake on this if this is clear, all the washers into same side is it ?
i have installed them Curved Area to opposite side of the piston head side, is it the correct way
