I had this exact problem a month ago, it turned out to be the T piece that was cracked.

That's the fuel vent line 'loop' isn't it?

see Fume Control
If the boot lid seal is damage, it can pull the fumes from under the car back into the passenger compartment.

You should be worried as yous have just gotten married and now she's cheating on you with some dandy fuel station preson watch out bro she's going over to have lunch with him then ducking over after work for the last pash of the day before she has to come home to you :( can't really blame her but!! Hey I got some news for you to will have to call you!!

And I'm with ben and mik as those lines in the picture are most likely shagged I've changed them in my sedan and maybe even in your coupe cos of that problem!! Also make sure now she's all tuned up and prob running alto better than u playing with it maybe see if the groms in the boot and floor are sealed as u may be getting exhaust smell as well

unless thats Tygon fuel line or equivalent its the wrong type of hose & that could be the problem - it looks like standard nylon tubing.

If its a coupe there's a heck of a lot of return vapor line running around the trunk area for the emissions system (at least US model) that could have a leak & produce the smell. Having just replaced it all after sorting it out where it went from pic's I can see how it could be hard to find.

A long time ago I had a problem with petrol fumes in the passenger compartment of my coupe. I traced the problem to a broken plastic 'T' fitting. I didn't trace the hose that it came from, but as there was no liquid fuel, just fumes. I assumed that it was a fuel tank vent hose. The 'T' was under the rear floor. On the right side. It's a small rubber hose of maybe 1/4 inch. Like a vacuum line.
This happened back in the late 70's, so my minds a bit fuzzy on the details.

is the filler hose to the tank crtacked or perished? even the seal around the nozzle?

i remebr there was an old post where the return hose becomes perished and it can cause vapor smells.

my sedan did, then that hot day it pressureised so much it pushed fuel past the su's and filled cyl 3 with petrol- and the sump too.

dattogals little dat is booting along nice these days but..

every time she fills up on the way home she comes in smelling of petrol. guessing the filling of the tank is pushing all the fumes from the tank into the cabin (1200 coupe)

any reason why this might happen?
anything in particular to check for blockage/leakage?
